Our Story

The Stonehaven Winery was built by Hardy’s in 1998 to express the offerings of the Limestone Coast region. After Hardy’s sale to Constellation and growing the brand one of Australia’s most recognisable wines, the winery was sold and the label lay dormant.

Early 2021, CW Wines, a South Australian family-owned business, acquired the Stonehaven winery and brand and have since relaunched the Stonehaven brand back to the market.

With a refreshed new look and market positioning, Stonehaven is back in people’s glasses with a wine for every occasion.

Located three hours-drive south-east of Adelaide the Limestone Coast is made up of six unique sub-regions: Coonawarra, Padthaway, Mount Benson, Robe, Wrattonbully and Mount Gambier, each with unique, rich and diverse soils.

The Limestone Coast benefits from readily abundant water and cool evening temperatures even when daytime temperatures soar.

Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay provide the bulk of the region’s harvest, with plantings of Merlot, Pinot Gris and Riesling also gaining in popularity and quality.

Stonehaven located on Potawurutji country. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we live and work and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
